Wide Span Sheds North Canterbury

With a combined experience of over 40 years, North Canterbury Branch Managers, Robin, Sam and Jason, bring the best industry knowledge to the Ravenswood based sales office. Starting their journey with Wide Span Sheds as contractors 5years ago, the team quickly saw Wide Span Sheds premium steel structures as a gap in the market and were quick to establish their presence in the North Canterbury region.

Wide Span Sheds deliver steel building solutions that deliver function and value for your property. Whether you have a smaller residential property needing vehicle protection or a farmer on a rural property needing large machinery shed, our robust design system can deliver custom storage solutions.

You can nominate your preferred dimensions for your shed. This covers the height, span, length, number of bays, and whether you want an open or enclosed structure. We have the capacity to design large covers or arenas as well.

Beyond creating a tailored building design, we can also assist with additional build services should you require support. Spanning site visits, council assistance, working with trades for concreting, and even full build - you really can get the exact level of support that you desire.

Located in Canterbury, the region is separated by the Waimakariri River. Administered by the Waimakariri District Council, the region continues to boast vast fertile flat land and highly productive rolling downs. The local council provides a wide range of building services, ensuring compliance within the region.

A building consent is a legal document certifying the approval of your proposed building work issued by your Council and means that the Council is satisfied that the proposed work complies with the requirements of the New Zealand Building Act 2004, Building Regulations and Building Code. As the owner, you are responsible for ensuring that the application complies with all Council and Building Act requirements. You are also responsible for all fees and levies associated with the application.

Appropriate application forms and associated check-lists are attainable from a Council Service Centre or available for download. Once application forms are complete, they can be lodged in person at the Council's Rangiora Service Centre or sent electronically via the online portal. During the application process, a Building Consent Officer will ensure that your plans and specifications show sufficient detail and that they comply with the Building Code. Once issued, you will be able to commence work on your project.
