There are so many details we need to consider in order to select a shed that is right for you and the site it is intended to go on. That’s why your Wide Span Sheds representative will ask you lots of questions. They are basically trying to understand your needs, and get accurate information so they can give you an accurate quote.

Most importantly of all, we need to determine the dimensions required for your shed. Here are some of the measurements you will need to consider.

Height: The height of your shed will usually be measured from the ground up to the eaves.

Length: The length is the measurement of the shed along the gutter edge of the building.

Width / Span: The width, also referred to as span, is the measurement of the gable wall.

Bays: A double garage for instance has 2 x bays.

When determining the size of your bay, you will need to put some consideration into what you need to store in that area. Typically, bays intended for cars are around 3 – 4 metres – however, if you need to house a truck, trailer or boat, then you will need to specify the dimensions, so that we can design your shed with a bay area that will fit it.

Roller Doors: Again, you need to put consideration into what you want to store in your shed in order to achieve adequate access. Remember, if you need a larger area for a truck, then you are going to have to make sure you have a roller door that the truck can easily clear through, and then you will need to ensure your shed has room to allow the size of the roller door. Roller doors require extra headroom space for it to roll up.

Wide Span Sheds representatives will help you through this process, in order to find you a shed that will serve its purpose. Contact your local friendly team today by calling 0800 94 33 77.
